For Veloform GmbH, Europe's leading manufacturer of steel-reinforced concrete self-service pavilions, RAVE.SPACE developed a fully browser-based real-time 3D product configurator with integrated Augmented Reality. The tool allows banking clients such as Sparkasse, Volksbank, and Commerzbank to configure Veloform's pavilion range to their exact corporate identity in seconds, then preview the finished installation at the intended location through any modern smartphone.
About Veloform
Founded in 2000 and based in Vockerode, Germany, Veloform is a pioneer in mobile spatial systems and a European market leader for secure self-service pavilions. With more than 4,800 installations across Europe, the company produces steel-reinforced concrete housings that protect ATMs against vandalism and explosive attacks, one of the fastest growing security concerns for the European banking sector. Veloform also develops event towers, LED advertising towers, and the slube minihotel concept, all built in its own production facility in Saxony-Anhalt.
Challenge
Every bank has its own corporate design, site conditions, and security requirements. Before the configurator, each inquiry triggered a manual presales cycle: technical drawings, renderings, color swatches, physical mockups, and repeated coordination with the client's marketing, facility, and procurement teams. This slowed deal cycles considerably, tied up Veloform's engineering capacity on presales work instead of production, and made it difficult for decision-makers across branch, central procurement, and corporate design to align on a final look before signing off. Scaling this customization workflow across dozens of banking partners and hundreds of parallel inquiries had become a structural bottleneck.

Solution
RAVE.SPACE built a public, browser-based 3D configurator powered by the proprietary RAVE ENGINE. Clients select a pavilion variant, apply their corporate colors, upload their logo, and adjust signage placement in real time. Every change is rendered instantly in a photorealistic 3D preview. The integrated WebAR mode then projects the configured pavilion at true 1:1 scale into the physical target location through the user's phone camera. Clients can walk around the virtual pavilion, check sightlines, evaluate access routes, and assess how the design fits the surrounding facade, all before a single technical drawing is commissioned.
Implementation
The configurator runs entirely in the browser, with no app installation required, which removes friction in enterprise IT environments typical for banks. The 3D assets were rebuilt from Veloform's CAD sources and optimized through the RAVE ENGINE asset pipeline for fast loading on mobile networks. A custom content management system allows Veloform's team to add new pavilion variants, materials, signage options, and brand presets without developer involvement. Augmented Reality placement uses WebXR on Android and native Quick Look on iOS, providing stable anchoring through the device's built-in sensors and realistic scale perception for a 3x3 meter concrete structure.
Key Features
Real-time CI branding: live application of colors, logos, and signage for every bank brand
Photorealistic 3D preview: instant rendering of every configuration change in the browser
On-site WebAR: 1:1 scale placement at the planned installation site via smartphone camera
Variant library: full Veloform pavilion catalog, from single ATM housing to multi-module setups
Cross-device compatibility: desktop, tablet, and smartphone without any installation
Self-service CMS: Veloform manages variants, materials, and brand presets independently
Benefits
The tool has transformed Veloform's sales motion from document-based to experience-based. Clients reach a decision faster because they can see the result instead of imagining it from floor plans. Veloform saves significant engineering hours previously spent on presales CAD renderings and physical color samples. Bank stakeholders across branch management, central procurement, and corporate design align on the same visual reference, often within a single call.
Site suitability questions such as facade fit, pedestrian flow, or accessibility clearances are clarified before quotation, which dramatically reduces the risk of costly late-stage changes. Beyond the sales cycle, the AR mode supports planning approval workflows and resident communication, where a realistic in-context visualization helps local authorities and neighbors understand the installation before construction begins.
The configurator also scales across Veloform's European footprint: sales partners, dealers, and bank managers can use the same tool in any language context because the interface is primarily visual. The result is a 24/7 self-service sales asset that generates qualified leads, shortens proposal cycles, and frees Veloform's technical team to focus on production rather than presales documentation.
